C2E2 was this past weekend and we are still tired from doing stuff all three days! I’ll start by saying that I don’t think it was as good this year as it has been the last few years… but it was still good. After the pandemic, it seemed like C2E2 really wanted to go all out and it was LOADED with great panelists, great artists, great merch; however, this year, although still good, I felt it took a bit of a dip in all areas.
I’ll leave the bad at that. Like I said, there was still a lot of great stuff going on! Some of the panels we saw were esteemed fantasy author Brandon Sanderson, the pink and blue ranger (from the original cast), Christopher Lloyed, Maya Hawke, Rick and Morty voice actors (including Summer and Jerry), and a couple of the footballers from Ted Lasso!
I also got pretty lucky and scored a quick book signing with Brandon Sanderson, which was probably my favorite thing at C2E2 this year – I got a fancy copy of Mistborn signed by him and one of the artists that did the cover art for some of the other versions of Mistborn!
A piece of really cool merch we got this year was at the Cyanide and Happiness booth, we got a signed copy of their card game (the artist was there and signed his name and drew a boner on one of his characters) as well as a custom drawing of a prompt we gave him (the cover for this post). I gave him the general prompt of Tigger and me swatting at each other.
Overall, pretty fun and looking forward to the next convention in a couple of weeks – ACEN!
